Lettre du 16 janvier 1587 (de Rome): "Serenissimo Granduca mio Signore perpetuo, ho riavuto la figurina e il medaglione greco, che era in mano di Domenico de' Camei, bona memoria, et ho fatto tanto con li suoi che me l'hanno rese, però con il presente procaccio mando a Vostra Altezza Serenissima dentro a una scatola la figurina, quale è una Pallade e come il medaglione sia accomodato, che credo che sarà della settimana seguente, manderò quello ancora in mano sua [...]" (Firenze, Archivio di Stato, MP 785, c. 198; Barocchi - Gaeta Bertelà 1993, p. 293, note).
