Lettre du 19 février 1587 (de Rome): "[...] Le mando di più una scatola bianca in forma rotonda drento alla quale ne ho messo quattro scatolini: in uno vi è un medaglione greco con un riverso molto raro e capriccioso et anco mezza dozzina di medaglie rare e di buon mastro tra greche e latine, che non sono nette [...]" (Firenze, Archivio di Stato, MP 785, c. 284; Barocchi - Gaeta Bertelà 1993, p. 294, note).
