Lettre du 8 avril 1799 (19 germinal, an VII ( ?) : « L’étude de l’Antiquité est tellement négligée aujourd’hui que cette sorte de monuments (nb : les médailles romaines) est tombée à vil prix dans le commerce. A Paris, on peut souvent s’en procurer pour le poids » (Paris, BnF, Méd., 5 ACM 100 ; Sarmant 2003, p. 343, note 18).
