Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".
-Lettre du 21 octobre 1738 (de Florence): Concerning books he is sending along with catalogue and price list, and books he would like to have relating especially to philology and antiquities, and recent editions of Herodates and Thucydides; he is struck also with Burmann’s «de vectigalibus et Jove Fulgurantore»; also his collection of letters of famous men. I am engaged on coins, and Etruscan inscriptions, but deferring Cricellarius’ work on Victor’s «de regionibus urbis» which is to include bronze engravings of the traces of the ancient city. He has offended Maffeius by not mentioning him in the Museum Etruscum (Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS D’Orville 499, f° 63-65).
