Lettre du 28 avril 1736 (de Venise): "Egli è sì gran tempo, che non mi capitano medaglie antiche, che quasi mi sono dimentico di questo studio. Da che si è perduta la Morea, donde ne capitavano spesso e bellissime e singolari, se n’è perduta la sorgente. Si è cominciata la stampa di quelle del Museo Tiepolo, che può veramente dirsi un tesoro. Le ha raccolte vivendo il fu Senatore Gio: Domenico Tiepolo, e le ha ereditate il Sig. Cav. e Procc. Tiepolo, che ne fa stampare a proprie spese il Catalogo. Lo ha assistito un buon vecchio nella descrizione, per nome Piero Fondi.
