Lettre du 27 juin 1744 (de Venise): “Ho ricevuto dal Rmo P. Provincial Santinelli il prezioso dono fattomi da V. P. Rma dei tre nobilissimi tomi dell’opera del Vaillant, costì ultimamente stampata. […] Intanto a V. P. Rma ne rendo divote e cordiali grazie per tanta sua bontà e cortesia, e particolarmente dell’essersi da lei fatta memoria in tanti luoghi del mio picciol Museo ; il quale riceve assai maggior lustro dal venir mentovato in opera di tanto pregio […] M’incresce, che assai tardi, e solo da poco in qua, mi sia capitata una bellissima medaglia d’argento, riportata bensì dal Vaillant, ma non ben letta da lui nel rovescio, per essere stata forse la veduta da lui di poco buona conservazione. Ella è di Pescennio, ed è quella che nel rovescio ha la Vittoria ec. con l’epigrafe, VICTOR IVSTAE. Le confesso il vero, che sempre mi diede fastidio quell’aggiunto di justa dato alla Vittoria, che Vaillant pensa essere allusivo al cognome di Giusto dato a Pescennio. […] Nella mia, ch’è bellissima, si legge chiaramente, VICTOR IVST AVG- ad esempio di quelle VICTORIA GALBAE AVG, VICTORIA OTHONIS & c." [BnM, Ms. It.
