Lettre du 29 novembre 1721 (de Vienne): "La medaglia d’argento, che mi scrivete essere presso l’Abate Belloti, fu battuta dalla città di Luceria nella Puglia, Colonia Romana, presso la quale Ercole era in venerazione. Voi molto bene vi siete apposto a spiegarla nelle figure, che vi sono espresse, avendo da un lato una testa con le spoglie lionine, e dall’altra il turcasso, la clava, e l’arco. Ma la leggenda dee essere LOVCERI. Louceria leggesi per Luceria, come in altre Fourius per Furius, ecc. Ella è riferita anche dall’Olstenio nelle note all’epitomatore di Stefano, e dal Begero nel tomo I. del suo Thesaurus Brandeburgicus" (Zeno 1752, vol. 2, lettre n° 116, p. 232; Zeno 1785, vol. 3, lettre n° 567, p. 303).
