Lettre du 7 novembre 1709 (de Modène) : « Quando però il pezzo fosse sicura per la fattura, le dico ingenuamente che non finirei interamente di sodisfarmi. Ma mi sgomentano gli ultimi periodi, che portano argomenti di pasticci o fatto sul vecchio, mentre purtroppo ve ne sono, e sono quelli, che più d’ogni altra cosa intricano il mestiero. M’e capitano ultimamente un Alessandro Severo, eccellentemente mutato, in Gordiano Africano, nel quale se l’Impostore ignorante non lasciava la TR.P. VII.
