Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".
'a Gentleman of my Acquaintance lately shewed me an Otho Coin wch was surreptitiously taken from a Collection Abroad. I am not a good judge of its being genuine; it seems to have had a greenish rust upon it wch is much worn by of by the Gentleman wearing it in his pocket. On one side it has Otho’s Head wth this inscription IMP. OTHO CAESAR. AVG. TRI POT. On the Obv. an alter with soldiers joyning hands with a priest or some other person in a long robe the inscription SECVRITAS P.R. att the bottom S.C. about the size of Half a Crown. Its very fair & well struck. If I can procure for you a sight of it I will send it to you for yr Observation. I have lately had some Greek Coyns Given me brought from Aleppo.' (Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS Rawlinson Letters 4, ff.359-60; Burnett 2020b, p. 626)
