-Lettre du 28 mars 1695 (de Paris) : Montfaucon remplace Porcheron comme garde du médaillier de l’abbaye de Saint-Germain-des-Prés ; il cherche à compléter la suite des empereurs romains : « Io lo pregod’informarsi dal R. P. Noris, il quale saluto e riversico humilmente, s’egli havesse trovato qualche Claudio primo Imperatore con il nome di Consolo, non havendone sinhora trovata veruno. Dopo la morte di Dom Placido Porcheron, io ho preso l’incombenza del gabinetto delle medaglie della nostra abbadia di San Germano. Se V. E. ci potesse rincontrare alcune medaglie m’obbligarebbe molto di mandarmele ; quelle che ci mancano sono le teste di Tiberio in bronzo grande, Ottone, Vitellio, Agrippina madre di Nerone « (Archives du Mont-Cassin, Valéry 1846 vol. 2, lettre CCXC, p. 383)
