-Lettre de le seconde moitié de 1659 (de Rome) : « Il profitto maggiore che si trae, secondo il mio credere dallo studio delle medaglie e delle iscrizioni, è l’assicurarsi che quanto si legge negli scrittori antichi per via di questi testimoni infallibili, si per esser per lo più imitati e scolpiti per consenso pubblico di quei tempi, si per non esser soggetti a variazione. Ond’io tengo per fermo che l’opera disegnata dal signor Cammelli sarà di grande ornamento, diletto et utilità al mondo erudito » (Florence, vol. III, ins. 29, 796 ; M.
