Lettre du 7 août 1579 (de Rome): "Serenissimo Signore, Avendo fatto acquisto di un medaglione che a mio giudizio è rarissimo e non più veduto e spero che a Vostra Altezza reuscerà il medesimo, gli le mando di buonissimo core e, come ne le altre mie vi ho scritto, tutto rimetto alla cognizione sua che so che è fondatissima e sa che per avere di simili cose, oltre la diligenza ci vuole anco di la spesa non mediocre e volessi Dio che così a me servissero le faccoltà. Come è pronto il desiderio di servirla e come veramente non perdono né a fatica, né qual si voglia altra cosa per dar in medaglia o marmo, che possa essere degno di lei.
