Lettre du 21 avril 1679 (de Padoue) : Patin wrote that an Averoldi coin of Macrinus was «rare and in such a good condition that it could adorn the collection of any Prince», recommending that he collect only similar coins of all the other emperors. Then he congratulated him on the coins of the triumvirs: he wrote that he also had an antoninianus with the inscription VIRTVS PROBI AVGVSTI, and that the price of these coins was low, though they would have deserved more attention from scholars; In the letters the reader can also find information about the sellers of ancient coins. First of all the caemetarii, the masons who dug the ground for building houses and «cum illis caute atque callide agendum est» (Padova, Museo Bottacin, MB 855, c. [7] ; voir Callegari 2020).
