Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".
-Lettre du 11 février 1736 (de Gotha): He is undertaking an edition of Julian the apostate, revised and emended anew with the greatest diligence; with his own notes and those of great scholars (whom he lists) subjoined. Among sources of which he gives an imposing list he refers to Sponius’ treatise on the use of ancient coins. He submits his whole undertaking to O’s. judgment, particularly in regard to elucidations of the use of ancient coins of which he says he is inserting 4 tables, and begs him to communicate to him the residue of Borremansus’ works, sheets of which have been produced. [ [The crabbed script is far from legible in detail throughout and several of the proper names are smudged]. ] (Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS D’Orville 482 fol. 108).
