Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".
Lettre du 19 janvier 1699 (?): "I have just now received a letter from one Mr. Fountaine student of Christ church. I have enclosed it. I doe not know what will be your sentiments upon it. He is a very honest Gentleman. one that has spent much of his time upon coyn’s & Pictures and understand’s them very well. and has a good collection of both, especially of Italian print’s. I cannot tell whether you will make your selfe known to him; but I can assure you, he is a Gentleman of great honesty. Mr Spinks know’s him very well. I will say nothing to him till I hear from you. Mr. Rawlinson is his acquaintance". (Harris 1992, 1992, lettre 104, p. 273; Burnett 2020b, p. 1589).
