Lettre du 7 février 1680 (de Florence): "[...] Le scrissi che Lattanzio dice che Prisca era la moglie di Diocleziano, il di cui nome niuno sin ora ha saputo, né so se in alcuna medaglia si trovi, e che Prisca con Valeria sua figlia e moglie di Galerio furono decapitate per ordine di Licinio. [...] Imperio d'Alessandro Severo. Fu questi eletto nell'anno di Roma 975. di Cristo 222. adi 6. marzo. Entrò nel XIV. dell'Imperio, poiché nel lib. 7. del Codice di Giustiniano al titolo 25. si legge un rescritto d'Alessandro Imperadore Dat. Idibus Augusti (Luogo non osservato da alcuno) ed è segnato: Severo et Quintiano Coss. che furono Consoli nell'anno 235. Sicché abbiamo di certo anni 13. e mesi sei principiati. Che però Erodiano dice che imperò anni XIV. e si vede nelle medaglie d’Alessandro la Trib. Pot. XIIII [...]" (Noris 1741, lettre IV, col. 19-20).
