Lettre du 19 avril 1686 (de Florence?): "Intanto mi rallegro che Vostra Signoria abbia terminato il suo lungo, ma però erudito viaggio, avendo notata nell'Italia la borsa di monete nuove per riempiere li scrigni con le antiche, riportando nella Patria le spoglie preziose di cotante medaglie per illustrare i volumi che prepara alla stampa, con i quali accrescerà nuovi fregi al suo nome e arrecarà nuove notizie alla Repubblica Letteraria" (Firenze, Biblioteca degli Uffizi, ms. 13 Epistole e Studi diversi, c. 87; Fileti Mazza 1996, p. 371, note 37).
