-Lettre du 21 mars 1777 (d’Avignon) : « Je ne peux pas trouver une plus belle occasion de vous mettre sous les yeux la médaille fourrée en fer de mon cabinet, j’en profite plus volontier que vous pourrez la remettre à M. Niel à son retour, et que de cette manière vous n’aurez point le souci du renvoi » (Nîmes, Bibliothèque municipale, Ms 140, f° 196).
