Lettre du 4 avril 1782 (d’Avignon) : « Je vous remercie des notices que vous me donnez sur les médailles qu’on peut acquérir à Nîmes. Je vois à regret que je n’aurai aucune acquisition à faire de côté-là. Le bronze de M. Boudon n’est pas d’un prix admissible et le moderne en or ne me va pas. J’aurai surtout besoin sur toutes choses d’un Vitellius et d’un Partinon (nb: Pertinax) de grand bronze. Il est prodigieux que sur près de trois mille grand bronze que j’ai, il n’y ait pas un Vitellius » (Nîmes, Bibliothèque municipale, Ms 140, f° 230; Rambach 2023, p. 28, n° 43).
