-Lettre du 28 juil. 1688 : « Il y a facilité de le voir: on lui a fait porter une partie du moyen bronze du Roi pour travailler, c’est a dire iusqu’a Septime Severe, exclusive.» et un autre extrait de la même lettre: «Pour ce qui est de Faustine la Jeune M. M[orel] m’a dit qu’il ne se m’eloit pas de dire la bonne aventure et qu’il ne mettoit iamais que ce qu’il voioit qu’au reste la médaille était si fruste qu’il étoit impossible de dire si le [dieu] fleuve étoit barbu ou non.» (Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève, Ms 2516.
