Lettre du 1er août 1681 (de Rome): "Il sogetto eletto per antiquario mi piace in estremo, e già vi era corso il mio pensiero, poiché il signor Bianchi me ne parlò quando io fui a Fiorenza, e bisogna a darli in mano il bollino e qualche medagliaccia, e sopra il tutto far che ben lo conosca e distingua il conio dal getto, le vernici antiche dalle moderne, li metalli, il disegnio, le lettere e farli imparar a leggere l'abbreviato (Firenze, Archivio di Stato, Carteggio d'Artisti, ins. 1, cc. 274 e 274v; Fileti Mazza 1996, p. 369, note 12).
