-Lettre du 31 mai 1661 : Gottifredi a fait dessiner 400 médaillons, soit la moitié de ce qu’il possède mais tous certainement antiques : « ancorché non ne siano de’ miei poco più che la metà, de gl’altri percio non ne metto alcuno, del quale non n’habbia veduto et approvato per antico indubitatamente l’originale, tenendo io troppo grande abborrimento et avversione degli falsificati » ; évoque les achats éclatants de l’abbé Braccesi (voir Missere Fontana 2009, p. 281, note 293, p. 302, note 417).
