-Lettre du 20 nov. 1660 (de Rome) : « Vista e ben considerata da me, devo drile per verità, cosi commandandomi Vostra Altezza, come la medaglia è antica ma è stata falsificata, era credo io una medaglia d’Otacilla, tale essendo il profilo del volto e l’acconciatura de’ capelli, ma vi è stata con il rotino abbassato tutto il piano, et poi ricavatone quelle lettere che sono piacute all’arteficie, si cognosce ciò per tutto, ma più evidentemente nel piano sotto le prime quattro lettere FAB.O, oltre che le lettere rincavate non sono conformi a quelle che si usavano in quei tempi, come potrà Vostra Altezza certificarsene se osserverà le lettere delle medaglie d’oro et d’argento di Mamea che fu poco avanti, e di quelle di Otacilla che fu un poco doppo.
