-Lettre du 16 sept. 1658 : « che se in 42 e più anni, ch’io ho continuamente adunato tutte le più rare medaglie di bronzo che siano capitate, havessi anco adunato ò in fatti curato di medaglie d’oro, al securo che potrei stare al paro du qualunque altro, come credo di poter dire di quelle di metallo, delle quali solo mi diletto » ; « Dall’altra poi sono pronto a servirne V.S., ma di queste consolari rare, ne capitano dalla terra così poche, che è une maraviglia, et da studii non si possano haver sole, né con cambii, né con denari, che però è necessario ò aspettare ò prenderme quantità grande dell’ordinarie per haverne alcune pochissime rare » (Pesaro, Biblioteca Oliveriana, Ms. 76, f° 12 ; Molinari 2004, p. 122, note 6, p. 132, note 48 et Missere Fontana 2009, p. 250-251, note 101).
