-Lettre du 16 sept. 1651 : à propos de la collection des Medici et de leur demande pour la plus haute qualité : « se Sua Altezza è cosi esquisita nella conservatione come sono molti della mia scola, credo che non si appagarà » ; évoque les médaillons modernes fabriqués surtout à Padoue et en Vénétie : « Io ho ben veduto le copie di medaglie moderne che furono già del cardinale Del Monte e molte altre ha anco il cavalier del Pozzo, ma troppo più medaglie io ho veduto de cogno moderno, de’ quali io non ho cognitione, perchè essendone stati fatti e molti a Padova et in Venetia, quelli credo certo si ritrovino in quelli paesi, ancor che molte di quelle medaglie habbiamo vedute qui, il che dico per il Gordiano con il Colosseo, è certo che nessuna historia riferisce che questo imperatore risarcisse tal fabbrica, che percio se la medaglia non è vergine, è sospetta » ; référence à Sebastiano Erizzo qu’il critique ; critique de Francesco Angeloni et sa « poca cognitione dell’antichità delle medaglie » (voir Missere Fontana 2009, p. 207, note 171, p. 247, p. 268, notes 216 et 218).
