-Lettre du 13 avr. 1652 : Gottifredi rédige l’inventaire de sa collection, encore modeste : « io sto in fine del mio inventario che per la scarsezza dell’oro e dell’argento apparisce per studio adunato da un povero gentilhuomo, da non paragonarsi a qulleo di un principe grande » ; sur la « règle » de Claude Ménestrier : « La regola insegnata da Claudio Menstrii nelle medaglie d’oro è verissima, fallisce pero nelle consolari, quali per lo più sono rozze, bolse, senza colore, quale che sia vero V.S. l’osservi, nella consolare della famiglia Hirtia, nelle quale io l’imparai, havendone hauto 13 insieme nelle studio che già comprai del cardinale Sacrato e son certo ch’erano antiche essendosene trovate passa 200 in un vaso da un lavoratore verso Civitavecchia, delle quali erano 13 che compro Sacrato » (voir Missere Fontana 2009, p. 264, note 192, p. 295, note 377).
