-Lettre du 26 déc. 1654 : sur les faux de la collection Farnèse qu’Agostini prend pour des antiques, ce qui ne donne pas une grande idée de son expertise numismatique : « Gli dico di averle vedute avanti di lui più volte et che sono ambedue falsificate, anzi di quella di Drusilla io ne ho un piombo, che a vederlo solo, giudicarà V.S. l’originale per contrafatto e dell’Othone ne ho io ancora una simile. Mi meraviglio bene, che V.S. cosi tardi habbia sentito questo avviso, perché avendo menatto l’anno passato l’abbate di Séguin a vedere quelle 2 famose medaglie, mi venne subito a dire detto abbate, ch’essendo queste 2 medaglie false, da quello si era accorto che detto Leonardo era dell’antichità ignorante » (voir Missere Fontana 2009, p. 252, note 300, p. 263, note 177, p. 331, note 146).
