-Lettre du 19 juin 1655 (post-scriptum) : à propos du faussaire Jacques Carteron au service de Gaston d’Orléans : « Mi ricordo che nel 1625 Mons.r Carteron Antiquario del Duca d’Orléans mostrandomi in Roma una medaglia d’argento di un augusto con la testa di M. Agrippa che va nella famiglia Cornelia, mi disse che era di un cogno che haveva fatto far lui a Parigi e che era suo. Da queste vengo adesso in sospetto di tante medaglie d’oro e d’argento rarissime che si trovano in quantità a Parigi che non si trovano a Roma, perché quando si arrivi ben da un artefice all’artificio di imitare ben la maniera antica, ricognando sopra altra medaglia antica, è impossibilie nell’oro e nell’argento di riconoscerlo, il che nel metallo non succede » (voir Molinari 2004, p. 130, note 42 et Missere Fontana 2009, p. 266, note 205).
