-Lettre du 25 sept. 1655 : Circa il bando (nb : décret prontifical interdisant de s’approprier le produit des fouilles) io credo che operarà quello istesso effetto che operò l’altro bando che ad istanza delgi stessi uscì fuori l’anno 1634 (sic). Seben era men rigoroso assai e fu che questi rivenditori secondo che compravano le medaglie dalli cavatori li sotterravano, morto poi che fu papa Urbano e cessata la volta del Cardinal Barberino nel 1645 in 2 volte ne cavorno fuori fossa 60 pezzi tra medaglie e MM (médaillons) eccelenti delli quali io n’hebbi più di 3 quarti.
