-Lettre du 25 août 1664 : critiques du livre d’Ezechiel Spanheim, De praestantia et usu : « contiene anche molto cose che a me non piacciano, condamna facilmente e biasma quasi tutti l’autori antichi che nomina con che fa apparire la stima che fa del proprio sapere, nomina alcune medaglie falsificate per antiche, con che si vede che egli non le cognosce, ha dedicato questo libro alla Regina e nomina meno assai le medaglie più rare, anzi singolari del suo studio, celebrando sopra tutte quelle del Gran Duca, fa honorata mentione dell’antiquarii che meritano, ma ne nomina tanti altri che non le meritano, che dispiace » (voir Missere Fontana 2009, p. 207, note 172, p. 270, note 236, p. 358, note 4).
