Lettre du 26 juillet 1574 (de Rome): “Ho consignato a M.r Pasquino Guardarobba il libro di fr. Annio, che V. S. Ill.ma m’ordina che io le mandi per la lettera del 25, et due giorni sono feci consignare a M.r Lepido il Pompeio d’ oro, che m’ ha mandato il Cavalier Mocenigo. La qual medaglia, se bene per la sua rarità et qualità è stimata et è stata anco pagata 25 scuti d’ oro, non per questo a me pare che si debbia permutare con la testa d’un Antonino. Ma dirò bene che quando V. S. Ill.ma si risolvesse privarsi d’uno delli tre, del meno bello, cioè di quello che s’hebbe questi giorni dalli frati di S. Stefano (perchè li altri due hanno il petto antico, et sono più conservati), si potria trattare che oltre il Pompeio dovesse dare il Cavalier Mocenigo qualche altra cosa che fosse a gusto di V. S. Ill.ma per ricompensa dell’ Antonino. Con che facendo fine bacio humilissimamente le mani di V. S. Ill.ma. Da Roma a’ XXVI di luglio 1574. Di V. S.
