-Lettre du 24 mai 1777 (de Rome) : «Voi mi avete veramente beato col dono procuratomi della bell’opera del Sig. Eckel. Ve ne sono obbligatissimo, elo sono tanto e più al donatore. Io me la terrò carissima, e me la leggerò con piacere e profitto subito che l’abbia ricuperata dal legatore, in mano di cui ora si trovaper essere legata all’Olandese e magnificamente come l’opera che ho del Pellerin, accanto alla quale si starà il Sig. Eckel. Letta che l’abbia ne farò un breve estratto per l’Effemeridi. Ma questa è ben leggier cosa: che posso io fare di più per mostrare al Sig.
