-Lettre du 30 juillet 1774 (de) : « Ho il piacere, che Ella accudisca alla ordinazione, ed illustrazione del Museo Nani, giacché io son d’avviso, che le greche medaglie inedite siano in migliori mani, essendo nella sue, che in quelle del P. Magnan, uomo molto intraprendente, frettoloso, importuno, e confuso. Io mi sono sdegnato nel veder date tante lodi non meritate alla di lui Raccolta Numismatica nelle Effemeridi, e mi ha stomacato l’audacia di poter dare un Episcoparium universale colla mancanza di tutti i presidi, che egli non ha, e che non potrebbe mai avere ». « Je suis heureux que vous avez pris en charge l’ordre et l’étude du musée Nani, car je suis d'avis que les médailles inédites grecques sont dans les meilleures mains que l’on pouvait souhaiter, plutôt que dans celles du P[ère] Magnan, sujet très entreprenant, pressé, importun, et d’ailleurs confus.
