-Lettre du 15 juil. 1713 (de Deventer) : [compliments sur la collection de médaillons de l’Abbé de Camps ; erreurs du Père Hardouin signalées par Galland ; observations sur l’explication de Galland de la médaille portant C.C. AVGVSTI et sur sa dispute avec Schott à ce sujet] « Le roi de Prusse a fait une réduction de ses bibliothécaires ; et il a donné congé à Mess. De la Croze et Schott ; et l’on m’assure que d’autres savants ont eu le même malheur, dont je suis bien fâché. La société royale sera bientôt aux abois, et ce prince aime mieux Mars que Minerve. Permettez-moi que je vous entretienne sur quelques médailles, qui sont, selon mon petit jugement, assez singulières […] » ; « P.S. : Après avoir fini cette lettre, j’ai remarqué que Mr. Vaillant nous donne la description d’une médaille de Livie, ou Julia, où son buste se voit sur le revers […] (Abdel Halim, p. 652-653, n° CCCXIX).
