-Lettre du 1 août 1708 (de Deventer) : « Messieurs les curateurs de l’Académie de Leyde ont appelé il y a un an un ministre qui était à Smyrne auprès de notre consul, pour être professeur dans les mêmes langues (nb : que Mr. Reland) ; il y est très versé ; il s’appelle Heyman … Avant son départ de Smyrne il avait voulu me confier une caisse pleine de médailles et d’autres antiquités ; il la chargea dans un navire marchand qui arriva au Texel, mais qui y fut brûlé par la négligence des matelots ; ainsi voilà plus de mille médailles des plus rares perdues » (Cuper 1743, II, p. 194).
