-Lettre du 1 juin 1775 (de Florence) : «Ho saputo questa mattina, che per l'incanto dei Pupilli si devono vendere i libri doppi della Magliabechiana, e che questo deve succedere domani nel Collegio dei soppressi Gesuiti. Ho veduto il catalogo dei detti libri, ed ho ritrovato che fra essi ve ne sono diversi rari, necessari ο utili per questa R. Galleria e per facilitare la descrizione comandatami delle medaglie e gemme della medesima. Io rimetto a V. E. le note dei mentovati libri, che tanto a me che al signor abate Lanzi sembrano della qualità predetta, e rispettosamente la prego a far separare simili opere perché ne rimanga sospeso l'esito» (Florence, AGU, Filza VIII, 35 ; Fileti Mazza – Tomasello 2000, p. 447, note 34).
