Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".
-Lettre du (10 avril 1728): Welcomes him to Florence in gracefully and playfully complimentary words, and hopes he will find himself taken to their hearts by the persons of illustrious standing there. He rejoices in the forthcoming issue of Morellius’ numismatic treasures, which has long been awaited to enrich other museums and illuminate antiquity. He adds a few further items, e.g., thanks O. for news of new literary productions, especially the Pithoean poems which Burmann has begun to get printed. (Oxford, Bodelian Library, MS D’Orville 486 fol. 83).
