'Right Worspll
I have not bin negligent of yr Worsps comand, since my arrivall here, but such small quantities appears yt one cannot buy above one meddall or two at a time. In all wch time I have procured for yor Worsp 373 meddalls wch I gave [sic] given to Mr Richard Phelips (Esqr Ferdinando’s & my own hond friend) to deliver you. What you shall esteeme them at, please to pay to my Mother. I have not kept ye acco of ye Cost, by reason I bought them so many severall times.
Here inclosed I send you an exact coppy of 3 meddalls wch a friend of mine one Mr Newman found out, he was Mr Lake’s friend, & hath desired me to use my best skill, for their exact bigness, wch if yor Worsp hath ever seene, you will find them not unlike to these coppyes wch I have drawne & please to favour me wth what you understand of them. If yor WorsSuperscript textp thinks fitt to keepe a correspondencey wth this Mr John Newman here a Merchant, who is Sir John Deathicks man in London, you may probably find as great content in ye variety of Meddalls wch he hath, as any person I know in these parts, can afford you.
