Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".
I have at present in my keeping a Brass or Copper Otho of the large Size for which the King of Prussia [Friedrich Wilhelm I] offerd Seven hundred pound but was refused; I writ about it to our Friend Mr Prescott, in his answer, he hath, amongst other Things, this Passage – viz. – I have heard that Mr Dodwell approv’d of one in Ld Abingdon’s hands – You had an Opportunity, more than any Body, to know that great man’s Thoughts in this Respect, so I beg you wou’d be so kind to recollect yourself what you have heard him say at any Time upon the subject of the large brass or Copper Otho. I have likewise a Collection in all the three Sizes of Roman coin in Copper and Silver from Julius Caesar to Arcadius whereof I shall give you a further account. (Hearne 1885, vol. VI p. 73; Burnett 2020b, pp. 1253-4)
