RemarksRemarks regarding the annotation. (en)
Burnett 2020b, p. 200: 'Jan van Wely was a jeweller in Amsterdam; the reference to him, the date, ‘his honor’ and ‘increase of profit’ all suggest some related transaction regarding Gorlaeus’s coins. And is ‘his honor’ the same person as the ‘Lord Baron’ [in Gorlaeus' letter to Cole]? If so, could the ‘gentleman’ of Gorlaeus’s letter indeed be Cotton?' (en)
