-Lettre du 9 septembre 1678 (de Lyon) : « M. Galand qui est revenu depuis peu du Levant a rapporté quelques beaux médaillons et a composé en chemin Smyrne ancienne et moderne » ; « Je ferais imprimer mes Miscellanea en six ou sept sections, les unes après les autres comme les ( ?) savants, si j’étais assuré de la débite de quelque nombre considérable et tandis que la première se vendrait, on travaillerait à la seconde. Cela semblerait moins coûter aux acheteurs et à ceux qui l’imprimeraient. Je le ferai peut-être à mes dépens afin de n’y rien ( ?) ; je crois que je puis l’intituler Miscellanea & ( ?) Gruteriani supplementi Tomus 1mus parce qu’il y aura plus de 600 inscriptions et toutes inconnues de Gruterius si ce n’est quelques-unes que je donnerai plus correctes.
