Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".

'I have yours of Oct: 31 with M^r Thoresbys letter inclosed, as also that other Letter of Nov 3^d which did give me the good Newes of your recovering the Box with the plants and Coyns that I have sent seven weeks ago. ... I ... shall take all possible Care to collect for you all the kinds of ancient Scotch Coyns that come in my way whether Gold Silver of Copper. I desire ye would in your next send me a List of those I have already sent, for when the Carrier got the Box he was in so great haste that I hade not time allowed to take a Note of them. Write the Inscription, Weight, and Size, with the year of God on such as bear any date that I may send all the other varieties as they come to my hands. Ye may send the Seeds with the those Copper and Silver Romane Coyns ye are pleased to promise me with the very first Convenience. ... Abstract from EMLO: Thanks him for 2 letters. Is glad box of plants and coins has reached him safely after 7 weeks. Promises to send him ancient Scotch coins and asks for a list of those he has already sent. Asks to be sent as soon as possible the promised seeds and Roman coins and asks him to fill up the box with any figured stones as he is interested in all curiosities. Several of his old scholars now employed in ships trading abroad have promised to send him any rareties they find which he will share with Richardson. Promises dried specimens of plants from the northern hills. Asks for sapling of certain specified trees to plant it being now the season for planting. Gives directions for packing. Promises a long list in Latin of plants in return.
