Lettre du 18 juin 1750 (de Vérone) : « Ho ricevuto ieri l’altro sette copie della vostra operetta coll’appendice, e ve ne rendo grazie. Se mi fossero capitate un poco prima avrei potuto mandarne una al Brückmann in Volfenbuttel a cui l’aveva promessa, ciò farò con altra occasione, ma che non capiterà sì presto, perché sono per quelle contrade rarissime. Il Gesnero a cui desiderate che ne mandi una, non è quello che io conosco, questi sta in Zurigo ed è ivi professore di fisica, e matematica; l’altro sta non so dove, e fa stampare sì malamente quella serie di medaglie di cui mi parlate. Questa benché sì rozzamente eseguita è opera di molto aiuto per chi s’applica a questo studio. Li primi rami erano alquanto distinti: ma gli ultimi sono un macchia [sic], e un sgorbio [sic] totale tanto perfidamente sono eseguiti. Con tutto ciò vedrò di servirvi, e se mi capiterà occasione di fargli tenere una copia della vostra opera il [sic] farò volentieri, e gli parlerò del contracambio.
