Lettre du 13 août 1718 (de Marseille): « Je vous envoie, mon Révérend Père, le dessin de quelques idoles ou antiques que M. Lebret, Premier Président et Intendant de cette province, et moi avons acquis depuis quelque temps avec la gravure d’une médaille de M. Lebret qui paraît singulière. Il faut qu’elle soit de quelque ville de Grèce : ces lettres ΧΕΡ au-dessous du griffon seraient-elles les lettres initiales de la Chersonèse ? Mais l’ΕΥΔΡΟΜΟ du revers avec la figure d’une personne qui a tiré son arc est difficile à expliquer » (Paris, BnF, Fonds français 17713, f° 77r).
