-Lettre du 10 octobre 1732 (de Clève): He sends him a large number of coins for purchase at his own valuation, and to pass on to friends those he possesses already, or to return. He relies on O’s. evaluation as providing him with a canon for pricing the coins and thus giving a definite basis for the sale of coins, which he hopes to extend in the interests of his too meagre livelihood. Before disposing of coins en masse for melting down he feels it prudent to ascertain their value severally. (Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS D’Orville 486 fol. 206).
