Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".
-Lettre du 23 juin 1774 (de Lapal House, West Midlands): He encloses a receipt for Mr. Wright and asks the name of the buyer and occupier of the farm. The bearer can bring the seal if Barret has done and delivered it. He cannot but be surprised by N’s declaration of selling his coins, though he realises that the practice of the law is an expensive livelihood. If he were able he would give a better price for N’s collection than anyone else rather than that it should be sent out of the country, especially his silver Roman coins. He offers 2 guineas for some of these. He gives good business advice about cataloguing for the auction (largest ones first - medals in another list). Some friend might show the catalogue among the London dealers, but he should know something of coins himself. He advises deferring the sale to November or December as London is empty now.
