Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".
-Lettre du 31 janvier 1776 (de Lapal House, West Midlands): He is handicapped by having no friend in London who is expert in Roman coins, for Young does not deal much in them, and N. is a stranger there. He asks N. however if he can procure certain coins which he mentions and a list of such Roman brass and silver coins as Young may have for sale. He wishes N. good success in London and pleasure. "You will see a play or two no doubt, and Cox's Museum". And he suggests he should visit and get a catalogue from Wedgwood's warehouse of their basalt seals, and many curiosities besides. In a P.S. he describes two rare birds brought to him this hard weather, viz. a grey sandpiper and a crested heron. (Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS Eng. misc. d. 147 fols. 47, 48).
