-Letter of 27 Sept. 1786 '(fromVienna): Tassinari 2022: 'Dunque, Eckhel scrive da Vienna (27 settembre 1786) a Zoëga276 mandandogli un’impronta di una pietra incisa, pregandolo di farla vedere a Pichler e altri grandi specialisti delle gemme antiche, e sentire il loro parere se la pietra è antica o moderna. Poiché i giudizi degli esperti spesso sono contrastanti riguardo all’antichità della gemma, Eckhel è molto interessato a sapere ciò che dicono i conoscitori a Roma' (Andreasen - Ascani 2013, 2, p. 122-123, n° 309; Tassinari 2022, p. 346, note 276)
