Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".

-Letter of 15 March 1780 (from Vienna): "Illi [i. e. Pelli] si minus probabitur mechanismus, quo numi veteres musei Florentini ope mobilium lignellorum separantur, ne mihi istud imputet. Fuit istud inventum Raymundi Cochij, at a me semper reprobatum, cujus locupletem testem habes Bastianellum, neque ego illud imitari volui, cum ante annos fere quatuor nova scrinia recondendae veteri gazae Caesareae facienda curassem" (Macerata, Biblioteca Comunale Mozzi Borgetti, Ms. 770-II (514), f. 1v; Williams 2022, p. 257, note 116).
