Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".
-Letter of 31 October 1789 (from Vienna): On 31 October 1789, Eckhel informed van Damme that the postal service had announced the delivery of the book for the following day; he reminded van Damme that he had promised coins in exchange for the copy of the Choix – something van Damme seemed to have forgotten about. This is the last letter by Eckhel to van Damme that survives (The Hague, Rijksmuseum Meermanno-Westreenianum, FA 400, ff. 481r–482v; Dekesel - Dekesel-De Ruyck 2022, p. 589, note 50)
